First thing out of the box, the middle post was bent and some of the threads were flattened. The bowl and the lid did not fit on the post. I had to drill out the hole on the bowl and lid. Do they do any inspection? Then I replaced the center post and all the hardware with stainless steel. This tumbler has a good aggressive action, maybe too much for some rocks. It is very noisy and kind of leaky. I put a bowl from a Thumlers UV-10 and some foam padding on the bottom and under the lid to help quiet it down and stop the leaking. Worked great. The motor quit working after 3 months. Raytech approved the lower motor unit replacement but they don't have any in stock and don't know when they will get any more. All tumbler manufacturers are having trouble getting motors. You have to wait months or even years to get a replacement so I had to buy another complete unit. Not happy about that. Overall I think with some self added improvements it is a ok machine. We will see if the new one lasts longer than 3 months.

I'm really glad I got this VT 10. Awesome price, works great, tough little machine. The only down-side is the manufacturer, Raytech, should include assembly instructions. I'm thankful I am mechanically inclined but have sympathy for those who are not so.

I have two already as I got when it first came out
I just ordered my third.
I live the bowl it’s hefty and thick.
Love the action of the bowl and the bowl shape better that the TV5s I have two of those.
I did replace all the hardware with stainless from the hardware store and have an extra shaft if I need it.
I replaced the wing. It with a nut and use a long shaft 1/2 inch nutdriver I got on Amazon it works better and faster.

Love how much you can do in these and how fast they are.

If preshaped or I want the original rock shape I use 120 for stage one. 600 for stage 2 and the Kingsley north micro alumina 1-3 micron as a polish.
Works great.
I was using the 100/120 and 700 that came with my original kit from Raytech and I ordered another bowl from them. The second one I got from Kingsley north and this one I just ordered too.
I wanted a dedicated bowl for each stage and 2 polish bowls so I just ordered another tumbler so I can have all stages running at the same time. 2-3 days per stage and 2 tablespoons grit verse 8-12 in the rotary’s I have the 2 QT66 and the QT 12 they have a double 6 pound barrel and a single 12 pound barrel will use them mostly for stage one and two now

Love this tumbler and Kingsley north and Raytech are both great I have used both of there customers service outstanding

Product Questions (10)

Customer Questions
The bowl sizes are similar. The construction is similar as well. That is a base on springs with a motor counterweight. The UV10 base is steel whereas this one is plastic.
Products which are manufactured by Raytech Industries are covered by a one year warranty from the date of original purchase. Should you believe that your product is defective in material or workmanship you must return the product to Raytech Industries...
This specific model is for rock tumbling. This is the MSRP from the manufacturer. The other models are for metal finishing and have modifications to the bowl.
Depending on which parts you are looking for, yes.
The bowl has a center column. This reduces the max size of stone that will fit. In order to get the proper movement you will want to keep pieces that are 2.5 - 3 inches in square (or smaller).
Start it with that fill level. If they aren't moving when you start it then you will need to add filler.
We haven't measured this with a Decibel reader. The bowl is plastic so you might want this in your garage as opposed to your home.
If the bowl and threaded rod are tight, then no we aren't sure what this noise could be.
We only sell the bowl and lid together. Send us an email sales@kingsleynorth.com and we will check see if the manufacturer will sell us just a lid alone.
