This is a fantastic All-Purpose Tumbler for Polishing Stones & Cabochons

This is the only vibratory tumbler that can run coarse grit, which still requires 8 days of processing, but the additional stages of medium and fine grit, and polish only take 2 days each. Plus, you use a small fraction of the grits & polishes compared to rotary tumblers. I STRONGLY recommend that you also buy a set of the standard grits and polishes from Kingsley rather than using the grits and polishes that Raytech provides. The Kingsley grits & polishes work perfectly. Also, it's a great idea to purchase a second tumbling bowl/ barrel for polishing so that you don't get "grit contamination". Last tip, make sure to secure both of the rubber coated bolts as tightly as possible, I add a metal bolt on top of the rubber bolt that holds the lid in place.

No, this is a plastic bowl. The only rubber bowled vibrating tumbler is the Lot O.

It is fairly noisy, but most vibratory tumblers are. This has a little thinner bowl and lid so it does tend to be a little bit louder than most. I would recommend putting it in either a basement, garage or room furthest from your sitting area.

yes, you can use water to make a slurry.

The TV-5 alone comes with 1 bowl. The TV-5 with the kit comes with two bowls.
