As long as you have the appropriate size and quantity of filler you could tumble a little smaller than fist size. It is important to emphasize that if you just add a bunch or one large rock(s) not much will happen. The rock(s) need to be tumbling over...
~ 3x2 inches would be the largest size. So the way to accomplish this would be to fill the remainder of the volume (up to 2/3 - 3/4 full) with smaller rocks or media. This will ensure the large rock is tumbled properly.

20 tablespoons for 80 and 220 grit. 24 tablespoons for 600 grit. 8 tablespoons of polish.
There is enough room to use 1 or 2 - 6 lb barrels at one time on this unit. Or just 1 - 12 lb barrel. Search for SKU: 1-0602
for the 6 lb barrel.
