I have had the Covington deluxe 250 for about 1.5 years. The videos put out on how to use it are pretty much worthless. I finally by trial and error figured out the best way to use it correctly and it now works like a charm. Basically, more rocks, more water and definitely keep an eye on it. Once the slurry is good, monitor it twice a day. Similar to a vibratory tumbler.

A worthless tumbler, wish I would have not purchased it.

The Covington Deluxe Tumbler Model 250 is the not a tumbler to buy if you expect to get any results with agate, jasper, or obsidian. Besides having to check the tumbler every day to make sure the batch is not a clump, having to listen to the machine make a high pitch squeaking sound I have not been able to find. I had a barrel break around the rim where the drive neural nut ate the rim and rubber of the barrel. If Covington would trade this machine with all 5 barrels for one Roll-N-Tumbler Gem Tumbler Double Gal. I would pay shipping costs. Tom Corrigan
