There are two reasons why I chose a vibratory tumbler .... Polishes in 1/4 the time it takes a rotary tumbler, and stones remain in relatively the same shape as they were originally. A vibratory tumbler can do a complete job in 7-10 days, with a 3-step grit kit. A rotary tumbler will require at least a month to do the same job. Quality is extremely high with these heavy-duty units, but they are a bit high-priced IMO. To me, Value is an average between the Quality and Price. Therefore, I rate this unit at 4.5 stars, but since there are no half increments in the provided rating system, I rounded the rating up to the next whole number. I am having a lot of fun with this unit, and get great results, so I have no problem rounding the rating upward.
