Description Petoskey Stone

A better quality, popular cutting material from Michigan, can be used for carving material. This is actually a fossil with a pattern design, brownish in color. Fist sized chunks and smaller. A soft material. Sold by the pound.

These Petoskey stones

Review by I don't have a nickname but

Were ok...but honestly pretty underwhelming.. a cpl have zero dots, and 1 barely looks kike the same material. There is 1 in my bag that I happy with, and 2 that I'm like "meh, ok"

Only has a half dozen dark spots and one that takes most of one side. No visible sign that it's a Petoskey stone. This specimen should have been thrown back. Not what I thought I would receive representing Michigan's state rock.
