This works for good for jade and other stones. It will require extra care because of its properties. That is gloves and covers of work surfaces are recommended.
Depends on what you are polishing. Cerium oxide would be a good choice for most stones. As long as there is a sufficient coating it will work.
It is generally used for tumbling but could be used on a buffing wheel as well. I would recommend making it into a paste if you want to use it on a buffing wheel.
