There appear to be two additional positions for the idler bar. If this is so, what size barrels can this machine tumble

Well, technically there is only one additional spot. They make the part reversible for manufacturing. That way they cannot attach it incorrectly. So if you move the idler shaft over one notch you can tumble with the smaller sized barrel.
