How to use Dop Wax for Lapidary
Use a Dop Buddy, 9-0052, or an alcohol burner to heat up the wax. Apply it to a dop stick, 7-0252. Also lightly heat the your stone for the best adhesion.

Is there a difference in function between the different dop wax colors? Green, brown, red, black… their descriptions seem to be the same.
Green, Black and Red dop wax are similar. Their colors make them have slightly different melting points. Brown has more shellac and therefore more holding power.

No, make sure you are using the correct wax. Imported wax will not work.
