Available in 6" x 1/2" size only, these special grooved, hard fiber phenolic laps are used for final shaping and polishing of sapphire, ruby and garnet (not for faceting). No, this has a 1/2 inch arbor hole.

You will want to use water coolant along with diamond compound for this lap. There's not a specific grit we would recommend, you would want to choose the grit size that would work best with your process.

These are phenolic laps and should be used with Diamond compound for best results. Your best options for opal are either a felt pad with cerium or a phenolic lap (like this one) with diamond compound.
