Description Covington 8" Expando Drum Unit

- Powder Coated Cast Aluminum Arbor, Pans and Hoods with Water Valves and Drain Plugs
- Speed Control Allows Gradual Speed Changes from 800rpm to 1725rpm
- 1/2hp, High Torque Motor
- The Four Station Expandable Drum Unit is a versatile machine that allows the user to move through grinding stages without changing the wheels. The angled expansion slots through the rubber rim of the expandable drum allow it to expand when rotated, thereby locking the belt in place. The drum surface flexes to the contours of the gemstone quickly removing grinding flats and scratches. Accessories include four (4) 3" x 8" sanding belts (1-each 100g, 220g, 400g, & 600g), belt guard, instructions, and product guarantee. The hoods are easy to remove for cleaning or wheel changes. The water valve takes 1/4" OD plastic tubing for gravity water flow or 1/4" copper tubing for pressure systems. Spray nozzles under the hood wet the entire wheel face. This unit ships mounted on a rustproof aluminum-topped Lam-I-Cushion base.

It will work for you, but you'll need to put in work to make it decent. Poorly designed, the lids dont stay in place, the soaker pads are useless, and the drains are blocked by the lids, and the drain holes are way too high to drain efficiently too. If you just need spinning wheels, this will do the trick. If you want a machine that has no issues or needs no or little work from you, AVOID THIS unless the knock 50% off the price.
