You should be able to use these right out of the box. If you feel they need a little breaking in you can run a hard agate over them briefly to remove any outer rind before using them but you shouldn't have to spend too much time breaking them in, if ...
80 & 220 are 1.5 inches wide. 280, 600, 1200, 3000 are 1.5 inches as well.
