Description 65T Heavy Duty Commercial Tumbler

The Diamond Pacific heavy-duty tumbler is based on the original Highland Park design well known for its efficiency and long life. This rotary tumbler is ideal for tumble finishing large loads of stone and for light deburring, burnishing, peening, cleaning and finishing metal parts.

Any material, when properly cushioned, can be tumbled with little fear of chipping or breaking. The barrel for the 65T is one piece, molded polypropylene with a neoprene lid gasket. The double pulley drive on the barrel rollers eliminates barrel slippage. Roller shafts are polyurethane covered. Rollers are mounted on heavy duty bronze bearings. Roller bearing barrel guides keep barrels aligned.

Unit includes 1/3 HP motor with three wire cord and switch. Motors are mounted inside the base.

Disclaimer: Please note that the weights of rocks and materials are variable, hence the load capacities stated in terms of weight are only approximations and should be used for comparison purposes. A more accurate measure of the barrel's capacity is given in terms of volume. It's crucial to fill your barrel approximately 3/4 full, no matter the type of material, including filler, abrasive, and water. Maintaining this level is essential as a load that deviates from this 3/4 full guideline will not yield the appropriate tumbling action.

Does this have a regular outlet plug and is there a minimum amount that you can put inside for it to effectively polish?
Yes, a regular 3 prong with the ground at 110v. In order for the tumbler to work properly is must be filled 3/4 - 2/3 full. If you underfill it, you won't get the proper tumbling action. If you don't have enough rock, consider getting non-abrasive ceramic...

Yes, those dimensions are correct. As long as you don't exceed the weight capacity this should work.

It may say it is a 65lb tumbler, but I am running 143lbs in it right now to have it at the correct level for Step I. I have pet wood and Banded Iron Formation nodules running together and that is what the weight of the barrel is when also filled to 3/4 full of water, large ceramic cylindrical media, and about 5-6 cups of 60/90 grit. Is 3/4 full the wrong amount of rock to run in this particular barrel?
You are correct to always fill the barrel 3/4 full of rock regardless of the weight. Diamond Pacific estimates the weight capacity as 90 lb. Thi is just a guideline. Always go by volume.

Would a Lortone C40 Tumbler barrel work on this? If so, that would make this very versatile if you wanted to run a smaller batch. Or if you wanted to do an initial large batch with the larger barrel with rough grit and then just run the best looking material in the C40 barrel for subsequent stages.
This wouldn't work, the C40 is a different diameter.

With constant use just with stage one, how long do you feel about the last?
This is difficult to answer in terms on days/months. Coarse grit will wear components faster. Our recommendation is to not use coarser than you need. Like 120/220 grit.
