Remember Montana Agate when sliced as thin as possible, like 1mm or 1.5mm often generates rainbow agate

Just thought I'd point out for any folks grumpy about their Montana agate, that it’s one of the few agates that will create rainbow slices when slabbed as thin as possible, as stated like 1mm, 1.5.mm & maybe 2mm. Of course you'll need to then polish it on a flat lap or in a tumbler, but I don't know if all Montana agate creates rainbow, but a lot does, of course has to be translucent. I've never tried seeing if the boring type Brazilian agates can become rainbow, but if you have some chunks, try slicing em thin & find out. Make for pretty window & similar displays if you bead up the thread or whatever you use to hang it in sunlight.

Nothing fancy bout what I got, glad I only ordered 2 pounds, done 4 cuts and it's nothing but drab grey and opaqe, should have got the mookait, not happy with this.

Striking plant life in rock

This was nice stuff, with plant life in the end cuts of the bigger chunk and pretty brown swirls in the smaller. Way more expensive than the Agate I usually buy but it's nice to have something different to work with.
