I just acquired a Beacon Star 6" AD A unit cabbing machine. It has a 2 1/2" wide rubber expanding drum on it. This machine hasn't been used in several years, but it seems to be in very good mechanical shape. It came with some used belts but the belts don't tighten onto the drum when it is running. Do you think that this might be due to the belts being old or do you think that it might be a problem with the drum itself being bad and not expanding the way it should? I would like to get this machine in working order if I could.

What rpm are they being run at? That is what is your motor pulley diameter and the arbor pulley diameter(s). Are you running the motor on an extension cord? If so try plugging directly into the wall outlet.
